Sisters salutes...

For the last two weeks I have run a lost-and-found ad for my anniversary band (20th) that was lost in Sisters approximately two weeks ago. Although the ring has not been found, I have received hope through many stories of rings gone missing from days to years! I hope it does turn up someday.

The first night of the ad, I receive a call from Cliff Willis. He is also a Sisters resident, but not someone I have ever been fortunate enough to meet. He offered to take his metal detector out looking for the ring! He pointed out that if he found it, he would take no reward. He was just a very genuine man. He said that if he and his Patty had lost the ring they had for their first anniversary, they would "be just heartbroken." He went on to tell me that they had recently celebrated their 50th. I just want to say a big thank you to Mr. Willis and tell his Patty that she has one heck of a guy. Happy 50th anniversary to the Willises. We have 25 more years to catch up to you.

Update: The ring was found today (Saturday) in a winter-layering jacket pocket. I forgot we had winter weather mid-May!

On June 5, Lauretta and Toni organized a celebration of life for my husband Wally.

What a beautiful day and so overwhelming to see kindness, love and support of so many people.

Thank you Scott and Mike for the grill work; it was great. Jim, thank you for the songs. I think I owe you some guitar strings, you are so awesome.

A special thank you to Eric, for I feel if it wasn't for you, Wally and I would not have met so many wonderful people.

Lauretta, Toni, Jan and Norm, Kalise and our daughters Debra and Michelle, thank you so very much for always being there for me.

And thank each and every one of you for the kindness and hugs. Only in Sisters could so much love be shown. And, yes, I am sure Wally was grinning from ear to ear.

Thank you to Heather Johnson and her junior health classes. The letters and stories shared about Stephen mean a great deal to us. The stories made us laugh and cry and gave us a little more insight into Stephen's school antics, friendships and character. Thanks for caring.
