Dave Matthews guitar to highlight auction

"A Starry Summer Night" is set for Friday, August 13, at Aspen Lakes, to benefit the Sisters Schools Foundation. High Street, one of the Northwest's favorite bands, will provide high-energy entertainment with dancing under the stars and in Aspen Lakes' elegant clubhouse lodge, while Aspen Lakes will prepare a delicious kabob BBQ. Opening the evening will be a performance by singer-songwriter Jena Rickards, a graduate of Sisters High School who is a rising star on the Nashville music scene.

A live and silent auction will add to the fun and the fundraising, with an array of unique items available for bid. One item that is sure to be of special interest is a guitar featuring pen and ink artwork and the signature of legendary musician Dave Matthews.

The beautiful myrtlewood and red cedar guitar was created at the Sisters High School wood shop by honor student Taylor Ellson, then shipped to Matthews, who has turned the guitar into a unique collectible.

A limited number of tickets for $50 are still available for "A Starry Summer Night," and can be purchased at the Aspen Lakes Pro Shop, Metamorphosis Salon in Sisters or High Desert Gallery in Bend. For more information, contact Melinda Witt at 541-420-9505.
