Brenna Weems, of Sisters, won Reserve Champion in the short stirrup, hunter equitation division, at the A-rated horse show, the High Desert Classic held July 21-30 at the J Bar J Youth Ranch in Bend. Brenna was showing her own horse, Sneak a Little Peak, and she trains with Catherine Cruger of Someday Farm in Tumalo.

Norma Holmes, Nancy Stonington, and Troy Collins offered their artistic expertise as judges at the National Forest Foundation's Plein Air "Paint Out" on July 24.
It took skill and experience to pick winners amongst so many beautiful paintings of the Metolius, and these nationally recognized artists were the perfect judges for the task! The National Forest Foundation, Roundhouse Foundation, and Samuel S. Johnson Foundation thank them for their generosity and
time.
Betty Fadeley, Tollgate HOA manager, and Tom Andrade of Oregon Department of Forestry, were among those honored for their efforts in this year's FireFree program, working to reduce wildfire danger in the Sisters Country. Tollgate's yard debris pickup removed hundreds of cubic yards of combustible duff from the subdivision.
