A resident of Panoramic reported the theft of two yard signs reading "No Cell Tower" as a dispute over a proposed AT&T telecommunications facility heats up.
A deputy responded to a residential burglar alarm - the third in 24 hours. He saw a bat flying around in the living room, the likely culprit in triggering the alarm. The homeowner said he was returning from out of town and would deal with the bat. No word on whether the bat had a Romanian accent.
A 42-year-old man fooling with his vehicle's CD player took out a section of fence along Highway 20 and hit a parked car, doing more than $3,000 in damage. His vehicle and travel trailer were also damaged.
After being arrested for domestic assault last month, a man left his pregnant dog to fend for itself. The dog had puppies. While the DA's office declined to pursue animal neglect charges, the sheriff's office did cite the man for 34 counts of unlicensed dog.
The manager of a local subdivision reported receiving an obscene phone call after an argument with a homeowner over CC&Rs. The homeowner denied making the call, though he acknowledged a long-standing dispute over homeowners association rules. The investigating deputy did not think the voice on the voicemail matched the homeowner's. In any case, the homeowner agreed that he would not be calling.
A 26-year-old man went to jail for domestic assault witnessed by a minor child.
