Power restored to Black Butte Ranch customers

Central Electric Cooperative reports that the final 700 CEC members without power since 4 p.m. Monday as a result of outage on a portion of the utility's transmission system were restored to service at about 7:50 p.m.

The accounts were in the Glaze Meadows and other southern portions of Black Butte Ranch.

They and approximately 2,300 other members had power disrupted after a squirrel caused a short circuit and equipment failure in the Black Butte Ranch substation.

CEC crews were able to bring back on-line two of the three substations affected by the outage at 5:05 p.m. About 1,100 customers in northern portions of Black Butte Ranch, Camp Sherman, Suttle Lake and other points north were restored at about 6:30 p.m.
