Sisters business at a glance

• For the second consecutive year, Laredo Construction has been selected for the 2010 Best of Sisters Award in the Home Renovation category by the U.S. Commerce Association (USCA).

The USCA "Best of Local Business" Award Program recognizes outstanding local businesses throughout the country. Each year, the USCA identifies companies that they believe have achieved exceptional marketing success in their local community and business category. These are local companies that enhance the positive image of small business through service to their customers and community.

Nationwide, only 1 in 70 (1.4 percent) 2010 award recipients qualified as two-time award winners.

• On September 25-26, alpaca breeders from across the United States and Canada will invite the public to come to their farm or ranch to meet their alpacas and learn more about these unique animals.

On September 26, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Alpacas of Idyllwild will welcome guests to join them.

Alpacas of Idyllwild is located at 16979 Coyote Trail, east of Sisters. Take Hwy. 20 toward Bend, turn right on Gist Road, right on Harrington Loop and follow to Coyote Trail. Take a sharp right; they are at the end.
