News and Opinion from Sisters, Oregon
Sisters citizens are now able to pay utility bills automatically.
"One of the top customer requests has been, 'can't you just keep my credit card on file and charge it monthly,'" said Lisa Young, director of finance and administration. Beginning on October 13, the finance department is implementing a new automated credit card payment processing option for utility customers.
The credit card payment program is designed for customers who choose to have their utility bill paid by credit card on a monthly basis.
A customer will receive their regular monthly bill indicating the amount to be charged to their credit card.
The billing will state "For Your Records Only - Do Not Pay" when the option is in effect.
Credit card drafts will take place on the 10th of each month.
If the 10th falls on a weekend, the city will complete the transaction on the next available business day.
Credit card payment authorization forms are available at the front desk at Sisters City Hall, 520 E. Cascade Ave. and on the city Web site at http://www.ci.sisters.or.us.
The city accepts VISA and MasterCard.
Residents can also pay utility bills through automatic bank payments from checking or saving accounts, by mail, in person, or by drop box. The city also offers e-statements. An e-statement is an electronic version of monthly utility statements via e-mail.
"The city's goal is to make payment of utility bills as easy, convenient and secure as possible for our customers," Young said.
