Student art featured at gala

Parents and teachers of Sisters Elementary School students are hosting the fourth-annual fundraising Green & Gold Gala on November 6 in the Aspen Lake Lodge.

"This is always a great deal of fun, and a wonderful way for the community to get together and raise money for our school programs," said SES secretary Veronda McConville.

The fun begins at 6 p.m. with a "no host" cocktail hour, followed by a "Taste of Italy" dinner at 6:30 p.m. Then further fun begins with dancing and silent and live auctions. Much of the art being auctioned off was created by the children of all ages who attend the school.

Tickets, costing $25 each, are available at SES, Metamorphosis Salon,

RE/MAX Town & Country Realty and Aspen Lakes. The proceeds benefit many of the programs supported by the Sisters Elementary School Parent Teacher Community (SPTC).

SPTC represents the active parents, teachers and community members in Sisters working together to enrich the lives of our youth through social events and educational programming that encourage a sense of community in our school.

"Parents who attended last February's SPTC's Family Dance Night know what an epic evening that was when several hundred youngsters and their parents came out to have fun dancing and buying chances to win one-of-a-kind baskets created by each grade level. The upcoming Green & Gold Gala will be even more fun," said Melanie Petterson, organizer of SPTC programs.
