News and Opinion from Sisters, Oregon
To avoid a scheduling conflict with another major event, the Sisters Area Chamber of Commerce has moved the date of its annual Black & White Ball to Friday, February 11, at FivePine Lodge and Conference Center.
The original date of February 4 conflicted with the second in the Sisters Folk Festival's Winter Concert Series. That concert at Sisters High School features legendary singer-songwriter Tom Russell.
"We really appreciate both the Chamber and FivePine being flexible enough to change their date," said Jim Cornelius, chairman of the folk festival's board of directors. "We don't want anybody to miss out on either event. Erin (Borla, Chamber executive director) was very helpful in resolving the date
conflict."
"The Sisters Area Chamber of Commerce realizes that arts and culture help to support Sisters Country economic vitality in a very important way," Borla said. "Moving the date of our annual installation dinner allows our membership to attend both events and encourages tourism to the Sisters Country."
The Chamber is accepting nominations for its annual awards. Contact Borla at [email protected]
