News and Opinion from Sisters, Oregon
The Sisters Area Chamber of Commerce welcomes the following three individuals to the board of directors: Wade Underwood of Three Creeks Brewing Company; Greg Willitts of FivePine Lodge & Conference Center; and Jacquie Zanck of Blazin' Saddles Cycle-N-Style.
New board members will take office on February 1, 2011.
In the fall of 2010, the general membership voted to amend the bylaws of the Sisters Area Chamber of Commerce and bring the size of the board down from 12 members to nine. Each board member is elected by the general membership. According to chamber officials, the chamber tries to build a complex board where every individual offers a unique background that will help promote the chamber's diversity and all interests of its members.
The newest additions will join Ann Richardson (Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show), Charles Kingsbaker (Black Butte Ranch), Chris Mayes (Mayes Architecture & Planning), Julia Rickards (Clearwater Gallery), and Darren Layne (Edward Jones).
Board members completing their term of service include: Grant Cyrus (Aspen Lakes Golf Course and Brand 33 Restaurant), Chuck Fadeley (Charles Fadeley Attorney at Law), and Kendra Littrell (Three Creeks Brewing Company).
Patty Vandiver (RE/MAX Realty) has also completed her term of service; however, as chamber bylaws state, she will remain a voting member on the board in the "past-president" capacity for one additional year.
Brad Grimm (City of Sisters) has resigned to pursue new career opportunities in Astoria.
Each board member serves a three-year term. If any position is vacated during the term of service the seated board members are charged with appointing a member to fill that position. Board meetings are open to the public and held the first Thursday of every month at noon at the chamber offices.
