A 74-year-old woman was arrested for stealing a purse left behind in a restaurant restroom. (See "Sisters salutes," page 5.)
A 22-year-old man was arrested for drunk driving.
A man found a dog tied up to an old wagon on his property. The dog had been there approximately two days. The man put the dog in a kennel and fed it and contacted the sheriff's office. The dog, however, escaped the kennel before a deputy arrived to pick it up.
A deputy gave a resident a warning about a solid waste violation on her property.
A resident reported spotting a deer with a broken right leg. A deputy responded and found the deer still very ambulatory. It jumped a fence and fled at his approach.
