The Lady Outlaws' basketball rolled over the Sweet Home Huskies 62-30 at home on Friday, February 4, and notched their fourth consecutive win.
Sisters scored 15 points in the first quarter and held the Huskies to four. The Outlaws continued to control the pace of the game and at the half had pulled to a 30-16 advantage.
The Outlaws outscored the Huskies 32-14 in the second half and secured the win.
Sisters had an excellent all-around team performance and inside players, Carissa Kernutt, Whitney Hanson, Sammy Kaiser and Katie Yozamp, all had their strongest showing of the year in all facets of the game.
Kernutt posted a double double with 13 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Outlaws to victory.
"Carissa had her best game of the year and was everywhere on the floor at both ends," said Coach Julianne Horner.
Kaiser scored all 11 of her points in the second half of the contest, which helped Sisters maintain a sizable lead over Sweet Home. Chelsie McConville scored seven points on the night, all in the first half of the game.
Taylor Nieri recorded nine points for the Outlaws, Marin Allen contributed six, and Yozamp added five.
"The big lead let us get lots of players significant game action as we prepare for Junction City (JC) Tuesday night at their gym," Horner said. "The girls didn't let up tonight or look ahead to JC. They took care of the job at hand. Our defense continues to be the strongest part of our game, and as we continue to dial it in, our scores of late have shown the effort the entire team is putting forth on defense every game.
"We appreciate the turnout we saw for 'Pack the House' night," added Horner. "The fans were wonderful, and we hope to see as many or more for all of our remaining home games!"
Sisters is 5-1 in league and 8-10 overall. The Lady Outlaws were to play at Junction City on Tuesday, February 8, and will play at home against Cottage Grove on Friday. Games are scheduled to begin at 5:45 p.m.
