Sisters sheriff's calls

• A man called requesting permission to dispatch a crippled deer on his property. He was instructed to shoot in a safe direction and not to use excessive force. Ummmm... OK, roger that.

• A hiker found an old rusted shotgun receiver wrapped in a black ski mask and turned it in.

• In an unrelated case, deputies recovered a stolen gun.

• A deputy helped citizens free a deer caught in a wire fence. The deer was none the worse for wear.

• A man reported being charged by a black German shepherd. A deputy investigated and was charged by the same dog. The owner was reportedly argumentative, but ended up with a citation for dog at large and no dog license.

• A woman reported scam calls from the "United States Criminal Credit Bureau" demanding payments. She sent no money.

• A man reported that his wife was drunk and trying to pick a fight. He elected to go camping.

• A disgruntled former employee showed up at a restaurant drunk and "verbal." He has reportedly made threats against the restaurant owner. The owner was instructed to contact law enforcement if the man shows up again.
