News and Opinion from Sisters, Oregon

Sisters salutes...

• The Military Parents of Sisters extends a heartfelt thank you to all those in the community that donated Girl Scout cookies to the troops. Nearly 200 individual boxes of cookies were packed up and sent to the troops.

Those deployed were sent multiple care packages to share with their buddies.

Much gratitude to all the Girl Scouts that worked the cookie sales and told buyers it was possible to donate to our troops. Love and support from Sisters goes a long, long way!

• The Sisters 4-H Computer Club donated a refurbished computer to Sisters Community Church to replace the one that was stolen last month. The club takes donated computers, refurbishes them, and gives them to low-income families and non-profits.

This is the 10th computer they have placed.

The club meets at the Sisters Habitat for Humanity ReStore, Tuesday evenings from 7 to 9 p.m. and is open to all middle and high school ages. The ReStore is a drop-off point for your "no longer used" computer.

• The Faludi family and the Dorsett/Epperson family would like to say "thank you" to Sisters Habitat for Humanity, for painting our homes! "We love it!"
