Outlaws come from behind to beat Mt. View

The boys lacrosse team battled back to earn a 14-9 victory over Mt. View on Monday, April 25. The Outlaws were down 6-4 at the half but went on a 10-3 scoring spree in the second half to notch the league win.

Scott Nelson had an outstanding game, leading the Outlaws with four goals and three assists.

"I guess we have the Tasmanian devil playing attack for us," said Coach Bill Rexford. "He seems to like getting banged around a bit, kind of reminded me of Godzilla and lightning. The more he gets hit, the more energy he has. There was no stopping him tonight."

Attackmen Jacob Akaka and Will Saunders also helped in the offensive effort, with two goals each.

"If our attack continues to produce, along with our second midfield line of Isaiah Glatz, Gabe Reitmann, Ryan Long and Michael Williams, we will be a tough team to stop," said Rexford.

"The rest of the league is onto Beau (Fitzke) and Seabass (Boehm), but they can't stop all the boys," added Rexford.

Rexford told The Nugget that this group of Outlaws is a fun team to coach, and has been from day one. Coach noted that the team makes mistakes, but learns from them and gets better.

Three days later, the Outlaws were up 4-1 at the half at home against Marist when the game was called due to concerns about snow on the pass.

Scott Nelson had another outstanding offensive performance and was responsible for three of Sisters' four goals.

"This was our best effort yet, even if it did not count for the record," said Rexford. "We showed ourselves we could start strong, take a few hits and still play high-quality lacrosse."

Next up for the Outlaws is the Sisters Annual Lacrosse Invitational Tournament May 7 and 8.
