• Cinematographer and writer Todd Moen of Catch magazine will show his "fish porn" movies on a big-screen TV on Wednesday, May 4 at 6 p.m. in an event sponsored by Poppies Gourmet Garden Market & Café and The Fly Fisher's Place to present an evening of great food, beer and the latest fly fishing gear for the Central Oregon angler. There will be a casting contest in the backyard, including prizes and gift certificates to both businesses for the winners.

• COCC Community Learning is recognizing the work of Life.Love.Yoga. owner and instructor Kari Sims Anthon, in helping nine students successfully complete the 2010-2011 Heart of the Cascades Yoga Teacher Training. Included in the graduating class were local residents Sarah Skelding and Akiko Oncken, along with seven classmates from Bend, Prineville, Powell Butte, Silver Lake, and Montpelier, Vermont.
