The Outlaws baseball team crushed Sweet Home, La Pine and Cottage Grove to wrap up league play. Sisters beat Sweet Home 19-6 on Monday, May 9, and two days later defeated LaPine 19-2. The Outlaws finished up the week with a 15-2 win at Cottage Grove on Friday, May 13.
All three games went five innings due to the 10-run rule.
Multiple players had big hits for the Outlaws in Monday's win over the Huskies. Eric Carlson went 3/5 with four RBI and Jordan Hodges had three hits for three RBI including a double to the left center fence.
Marcus Arends and Aaron Selig both had two hits and two RBI and Nicky Blumm had two hits and one RBI.
Shane Groth was Sisters' winning pitcher. Groth pitched the first four innings and recorded six strikeouts. Hodges closed the game out in the fifth with six pitches for three outs.
Wednesday's game against La Pine was over in 4-1/2 innings.
Sisters had 16 hits and La Pine only managed one hit in the game.
Jon Lahey was the winning pitcher with seven strikeouts. Erik Carlson pitched the final inning for Sisters.
"Jon pitched well," said Coach Steve Hodges. "He went after hitters and struck out the side in the first inning. He did a good job of keeping the game at a good tempo."
Nathan Roy hit a double down the right field line all the way to the fence in the second inning for three RBI.
Hodges was 3/3 and stole home in the second inning, the first time all year the Outlaws have stolen home.
Carlson had three hard-hit singles for the Outlaws and Jarden Weems hit a nice line-drive single.
On Friday, Sisters beat Cottage Grove and wrapped up league play with a 14-1 record.
Sisters will host Cascade in a play-in game at home on Thursday, May 19. Game is set for 4:30 p.m.
