News and Opinion from Sisters, Oregon
To the Editor:
Kudos to CRAFT (Cat Rescue Adoption and Foster Team) that assisted me in a rescue of a stray cat a month ago at the former Coyote Creek Restaurant. I noticed the orange (formerly fluffy, now terribly matted) kitty on a walk through the property. There was food in a plastic bucket that some kind person had provided. Also the good folks at Bi-Mart had also been providing it food.
But it was looking very unwell and in need of medical care.
I called CRAFT that afternoon and left a message about the cat needing rescue. To my amazement, by the next morning, a message was on my phone from Ruby, a volunteer with CRAFT telling me that she had put out two Have-A-Heart traps and would let me know when she got the cat. That night around 8 p.m., she called to tell me that the cat was now being transported to CRAFT rescue and wanted to thank me for letting them know!
I just wanted everyone in the Sisters community to know how truly blessed we are to have such a wonderful organization here in Central Oregon. I know I will be donating to enable them to continue their wonderful work. For more information visit http://www.craftcats.org. Donations may be made to: CRAFT, P.O. Box 6441, Bend, OR 97708.
