Memorial Day observances set

The Sisters American Legion and VFW will conduct a Memorial Day Ceremony on May 30, at 11 a.m. at Sisters Village Green Park.

This year's featured speaker will be Tina Thissen, who has regularly visited Sisters from The Netherlands. She will talk about the local citizens who have cared for American graves at The Netherlands American Cemetery in the village of Margraten.

The ceremony will be followed by a barbecue and a drawing for the Flanders Field quilt. Tickets will be on sale prior to the ceremony.
