Film promotes bicycle as vehicle for change

"With My Own Two Wheels," a feature-length documentary about the bicycle as a vehicle for change around the world, will play in Sisters on Wednesday, June 22 as part of a cross-country screening tour.

The film's producer and co-director, Jacob Seigel-Boettner, will be in Sisters, and there are several ways for people to connect with him, see the film and raise awareness of several local and global bike-related charities.

Join Jacob for a road-bike ride from Blazin Saddles at 5:30 p.m. The film begins at 8 p.m. and will conclude with discussions with Jacob. Tickets are on sale now at the Sisters Movie House box office, Blazin Saddles and RE/MAX Revolution for $10.

"With My Own Two Wheels" weaves the stories of five individuals from across the globe into a single narrative about the bicycle as a vehicle for change. The documentary was shot on location in Zambia, Ghana, India, Guatemala and California, and was produced in collaboration with bicycle-driven development organizations including World Bike Relief and Bikes Not Bombs.

The Sisters screening is presented by Sisters Movie House, RE/MAX Revolution, Sisters Athletic Club and Thyme Restaurant. The evening is a fundraiser for World Bicycle Relief.

The film was made possible with the support of the University of California, Berkeley, The Shelley and Donald Rubin Foundation, Yardi Systems, EAASY, The Fund for Santa Barbara, Bikes Not Bombs, Project Rwanda and New Belgium Brewing.
