Alexander George Kary was a member of the Sisters community since 1999.
Alex was born and educated in Chicago, Illinois, and moved to the Northwest at the age of 16. He served in the Marines in World War II. Alex had many occupations including working in the Forest Service, logging and as a finish carpenter.
Alex was an avid outdoorsman. His hobbies included prospecting for gold, hunting, skiing, and he loved restoring old pick-ups.
Al loved his family. He is preceded in death by his son, Glen Kary; his daughter, Joy Edlund; his son-in-law, Jay Miller; and siblings Charles, John, Dorothy and Lillian.
Al is servived by his wife, Roberta Kary; daughters Gail and Teresa; sons Dan, David, Mike and Scott; sister Helen Baldwin; 16 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Al was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Transfiguration.
Funeral services will be held at the Episcopal Church of the Tranfiguration on Thursday, July 14, at 1 p.m. with reception to follow.
