Letters to the Editor

To the Editor:

Three cheers and a big hurrah for the intrepid Red Crew of the Northwest Youth Corps who have been working on restoring the Black Butte Summit Trail. This trail is an icon for those of us who live in Sisters and a special hiking treat for our visitors. Also thanks to Maret Pajutee for sharing the history of this remarkable

place.

Our children and grandchildren have all enjoyed this trek over the past years and it may not be Mt. Everest, but it's 'our' wonderful mountain.

To the Editor:

I'll take Glory Daze Car Show as an indicator species of reverse slant parking. Almost every vehicle parked on that block in Sisters was front-in on the wrong side of the road. These are car people, and even they didn't do reverse slant, with loads of signage directing it.

Has anyone stopped to consider what this will be like for people with arthritic necks or vehicles that don't allow good back-up visibility? I think the auto-body lobby was in on this not-so-great

idea.
