Elizabeth Danforth Molino passed away July 2 of natural causes. She was 94 years young. The daughter of James Arthur Danforth and Ruth Harrison Danforth, she grew up in Yankton, South Dakota, with two older brothers. Her family moved to Southern California in the 1930s.
She went to Scripps College and USC where she met her first husband, Eric Johnson. Together they raised two children, Judy and Donald, in Monrovia, California. When her children were older she went back to school to receive a masters in education. She taught English and home economics at the high school and college level. Elizabeth met Oliver Howard shortly after retiring from teaching.
They moved to Sisters where they built their home. She loved to cook, sew and design jewelry. Elizabeth married her third husband, Henry Molino, in 1989. They traveled extensively and were active members of the Episcopal Church. She lived in Sisters over 30 years. Oliver Howard, Don Johnson, Eric Johnson and Henry Molino preceded her in death, as well as her two brothers. Her daughter Judith Bush and Donna Johnson, five grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren survive her. Elizabeth was a 50-year member of PEO. Contributions maybe made to PEO Chapter FS. A scholarship in the name of Elizabeth Danforth is set up to promote education for women in Oregon.
A memorial service celebrating her life will be held in Sisters at the Episcopal Church of the Transfiguration Sunday, August 14, at 2 p.m. Elizabeth was a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She will be greatly missed by all that loved and knew her.
