New doctor on staff at Ponderosa Chiropractic

Dr. Jim Ward is a perfect fit at Ponderosa Chiropractic. Like the practice's owner Dr. Darcy Dill, Dr. Ward is an experienced chiropractor, an avid golfer and committed to helping patients overcome obstacles that hold them back from full enjoyment of their activities.

Dr. Ward originally practiced for many years in Bend as the owner of High Desert Chiropractic Clinic. He moved to Nevada in 2002, where he served as an independent medical examiner, verifying disability claims for the state of Nevada - a position he still holds on a part-time basis.

"I just go down for a few days each month, do my loop through northern Nevada and come home," he explained.

Like Dr. Dill, Dr. Ward has a golf background and an interest in helping golfers improve their fitness and prevent injury.

"And he's a good golfer, too!" Dr. Dill said. "He whipped me on the course yesterday - soundly."

"I started playing golf in '63," Dr. Ward acknowledged, "later to become a ski bum for many years."

The sports background has been useful in Dr. Ward's career, helping him to understand the stresses and strains different dynamic actions have on the body. He's also extensively trained in treating motor-vehicle-accident injuries.

Dr. Ward believes that regular chiropractic care, keeping the body in balance and functioning properly, can help patients enjoy greater quality of life.

"A lot of times these things that people think are old-age kinds of chronic (problems) can be easily resolved," he noted. "You don't have to live in pain."

Dr. Dill noted that the practice now incorporates massage, with massage therapist Melinda Corey. Massage and chiropractic treatment complement each other, helping patients achieve optimal outcomes.

Ponderosa Chiropractic is located on the FivePine Campus, above Thyme Restaurant, at 1011 Desperado Trail #203. For more information call 541-588-6200.
