Coach Clyde Powell told The Nugget that Gladstone has a well-developed program that is well-coached and has good depth. Powell stated that the Gladiators reminded him of the Outlaws' '98-'99 State Championship team.
Despite the loss, Powell said he feels the Outlaws will be prepared for next week's league opener.
"I think we'll be ready for league," said Powell. "We played a lot of kids tonight and our younger kids are getting experience. Our veteran players are playing well and I think the younger players will follow suit and be big-time contributors."
The Outlaws will open league play on September 30 at Junction City.
