Mabelle LaVerne Precourt Follis Beebe June 24, 1937 - October 8, 2011

Mabelle LaVerne Precourt Follis Beebe of Sisters went to be with the Lord. She passed away peacefully with her family by her side at Partners in Care Hospice House in Bend on October 8, 2011.

She was born June 24, 1937 to Octive and Betty (Erene) (Bonner) Precourt in Oregon City.

Mabelle joined the Air Force right after graduating from Pendleton Senior High School in 1955 and retired in 1958 to get married and start a family. She married George J. Follis III, Nov 4, 1958. She and George were stationed in France from 1960-63. After returning to the United States she was a wife and mother. She started working for the State of Oregon Juvenile center in Pendleton in 1977.

Mabelle married Keith Beebe in the summer of 1980. Mabelle and her second husband Keith moved to Anchorage, Alaska, in 1980 and she worked for the Anchorage Municipal from 1980-1990. She moved back to Oregon in 1990 to be closer to her granddaughter and family. She started to work for the State of Oregon Employment Division in 1991. She retired in 2000. She moved to Sisters in 2009 to be closer to her son Jim.

Mabelle loved her family and spending time with them. She also enjoyed traveling, metal detecting, reading, sewing, baking, quilting and serving the Lord.

She was a member of Three Sisters Fellowship Foursquare church in Sisters.

She is survived by her daughter Rebecca A. Follis of Monmouth; her son George J. Follis IV (Jim) of Sisters; and her granddaughter Kristina M. Follis of Monmouth; her sisters Shirley Hutchins of Texas; Thelma (husband Bill) Lozier of Adams; Luella (husband Larry) Bailey and Leona (husband Bob) Bray of Oregon City; Jean Raph of LaGrande; Kathy (husband Henry) Baker; Carol (husband Jeff) Greene; and Vicky (husband Pete) Veliz of Hermiston; and her brothers David and Dean Precourt of Portland.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Octive D. Precourt and Betty Erene Bonner Precourt Morris; her first husband, George J. Follis, and second husband Keith Beebe.

There was a military graveside service at Willamette National Cemetery on October 14.
