Boys soccer names six to all-league

The boys soccer team had six players selected to all-league teams this year, including sophomore Jake McAllister, who was named Player of the Year.

McAllister was a first-team all-league pick and one the Outlaws' top scorers. Jake finished with 10 goals and seven assists, which was nearly 50 percent of the team's total offensive attack.

Coach Rob Jensen said, "Jake is an exceptional all-around player. He scores well, can dribble, and sees the field to make passes. He has unlimited growth potential and works as hard as or harder than anyone around him. He dominated play for us on both the offensive and defensive end. His work ethic and positive attitude really contribute to the team. Like most great players he makes the people around him better. And a bonus for us, he's a sophomore!"

Seniors Tim Hernandez, Sebastian Boehm and junior Drew Corrigan were also first-team picks.

Hernandez scored three goals for the Outlaws during the course of the season, and according to Jensen was a key factor in Sisters claiming the league title.

"Tim was a major threat to both score and set up other players to do so," stated Jensen. "He is a ball hawk and always seems to win the 50/50 balls."

Boehm did an outstanding job at stopper for the Outlaws and was one of the top vote-getters in the league. Sebastian scored four goals for the Outlaws and also recorded one assist. Jensen noted that Boehm played great on defense and contributed on the offensive end as well.

Corrigan played keeper for the Outlaws and recorded 123 saves on the season.

"Drew got better every day," said Jensen. "He finished the season strong and was one of the major reasons we made it as far as we did. His leadership and skill got him to the spot of top keeper in the league."

Senior Ryan Long and sophomore Evan Rickards earned second-team all-league recognition.

Long was a tenacious defender for the Outlaws and took pride in outworking everyone around him. Jensen noted that Long took on the role of shutting down the opponents' best players. Rickards played at the midfield position and was one of the Outlaws' top scorers this season, with six

goals.

"Evan is a tireless worker and very fast up the field," said Jensen. "He also works hard to improve his skills and truly looks to get better all the time. His leadership and attitude are contagious and his presence makes everyone around him better."

To top it off, Coach Jensen was voted Coach of the Year for the second year in a row, and Jensen gave all the credit to his team.

"The success of my team led to the honor of Coach of the Year," said Jensen. "I really do believe that any success I have has a lot to do with those I have worked with. The players make the team. I am just here to mentor them and help them along the way."
