Holiday Platters feed Sisters hungry

Last week, organizers from the Holiday Platters Project presented the Kiwanis Club of Sisters with a check for $1,000 for the community food bank. The Holiday Platters Project is still underway, with more unique platters for sale and on display at Sisters Art Works, located at 204 W. Adams Ave.

"There are still some platters available from highly respected local artists like Pam Jersey Bird, Clay Warburton, Karen Piedmont, Susanne Redfield and Lorraine Albertson," said Kathy Deggendorfer. To maximize their gift to the food bank, the platters are now on sale for $50.

The Holiday Platter Project was organized by Kathy Deggendorfer, Lorraine Albertson and Susanne Redfield. Each brought their own strengths to the project, and they are all happy with the

results.

"People have encouraged us to do it next year," said Deggendorfer.

Contributing artists gathered earlier this fall to create the platters.

"We are so pleased that work from our hands can bring joy to those who purchased the platters and fill the plates of those in our community who need the help this holiday season," said Deggendorfer.

Sisters Art Works will be open for patrons to take a look at the platters, and Kathy Deggendorfer or Eric Gunson will be on hand to handle purchases. For more information call Kathy Deggendorfer at 541-420-9695.
