Betty Lou Woodruff Owers was born February 1, 1918, in Dayton, Ohio, to Lottie May Cory Woodruff and William Nathaniel Woodruff.
She passed peacefully Christmas morning, 2011.
Betty married Robert Hammond Owers May 19, 1939.
They had two children, Robert Woodruff Owers and Judith Mae Owers Smith.
Betty was a loving, kind and generous person, devoted to her husband, her children, and all of her beloved family.
A lifelong musician, teacher, spiritual student and counselor, Betty was ordained by the Unity Church in 1972 and served as minister at Unity of Salem for many years. Other places of service included Winter Park, FL, and Unity of South Miami, FL.
Betty is survived by her son Bob, his wife Allyson and granddaughter Jennifer Owers. Her daughter Judy and her husband Sam (Stuart) Smith are long-time residents of Central Oregon. Betty resided in their home and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
A celebration of life service will be held at the Unity Community of Bend at the High Desert Grange January 12, 2011 at 3 p.m. The Grange is located at 62855 Powell Butte Hwy. in Bend.
