A dozen Sisters community organizations got a nice boost last week from Ray's Food Place.
Ray's distributed checks totaling $4,249.80 to 12 different organizations as part of C&K Markets Community Rewards Program, a.k.a.
1 percent receipts. Through the program, organizations collect receipts from Ray's shoppers and turn them in to collect on the reward.
There is an application process to participate.
The program has distributed thousands of dollars in funds throughout the Sisters community over the years.
"We have given out $10,129.89 through this program in 2011," said store manager Jeff McDonald, "and $50,627.60 in the last five years just here in Sisters."
Organizations who received funds through the program last week are: Sisters High School Equestrian Team; Sisters High School Senior Grad Night; The Episcopal Church of the Transfiguration; Friends of the Sisters Library; Kiwanis Club of Sisters; Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church; St. Edward the Martyr Catholic Church; Central Oregon Council on Aging; New Hope Christian Center; Three Sisters Fellowship; Sisters Christian Academy; Sisters Community Church.
