News and Opinion from Sisters, Oregon
Jolynn Bafford has a new home.
Actually, it isn't really a new home - it's 10 years old, a "recycled Habitat home, which originally belonged to Lupe Chamberlain. It's part of a tight-knit neighborhood on St. Helens Avenue.
Bafford and her friends and neighbors celebrated the dedication of the home with the Sisters chapter of Habitat for Humanity on Sunday. Habitat purchased the home from Chamberlain and remodeled the interior, including adding new appliances.
In his blessing of the house, Pastor Kevin Marks noted that the gathering was a "celebration of love, sacrifice and service to one another."
Bafford thanked everyone who gathered with her in making the house a home.
"You are all full of the milk of human kindness," she said. "I want to thank you. Welcome to my home."
