Sisters Folk Festival received a grant from the BendBroadband Community Partners Program, which provides free Internet and video services to nonprofit organizations.
BendBroadband's community relations manager, Sonja Donohue, visited the Sisters Folk Festival offices to present a plaque commemorating the award last Friday.
BendBroadband provides advertising support for thousands of public service announcements and also offers complimentary or discounted BendBroadband services to all public schools, fire stations, and a variety of nonprofit organizations. The total annual value of the combined cash and in-kind contributions is more than $500,000.
"We are honored to be awarded this grant and can't thank BendBroadband enough for their support of our organization," said Development Director Katy Yoder.
Sisters Folk Festival Inc. is a year-round cultural arts organization producing music events, providing music and arts education through their educational outreach program, the Americana Project, and offering scholarships so all students can explore and discover their unique creative gifts.
Sisters Folk Festival utilizes BendBroadband's high-speed Internet service to further the organization's mission in the community. BendBroadband's community focus areas are: children and families; arts; environment; and education.
