In the last meet before district championships, the Outlaws put on an excellent performance against Blanchet Catholic, Junction City and Toledo High School at the Kroc Center on Saturday, February 4.
Sisters won the combined team events with 265.5 points, ahead of the host, Blanchet Catholic, with 232.50 points. The girls' score was tight, with only three points separating Sisters from Blanchet, but the 30-point lead on the boys' side secured the overall win for the Outlaws.
Codie Lagao led the Medley Relay "A" to a first place with a good backstroke segment (32.0), followed by Katie Stewart in the breaststroke (36.9), Michelle Young in the butterfly (30.3) and Samantha Williamson as anchor (28.0).
The "B" team, with Emily Christen (30.9), Liz Stewart (38.8), Chloe Stein (38.8) and Geneieve Mackenzie (28.6) was second, a second ahead of the "A" team from Junction City.
The boys' "A" team, with Brennan Miller (backstroke 28.7), Tyler Baldessari (breaststroke 33.8), Tyler Berg (butterfly 28.5) and Jake Miller (freestyle 24.7) touched the wall first as well, and the "B" team, with Ian Baldessari, Davidson Small, Shawn Horton and Jonathan Luz pushed Blanchet into third place.
Katie Stewart added victories in the 200-yard individual medley (2:29.9) and the 100-yard breaststroke (1:20.4) to the Outlaws' final score. Emily Christen was second in the IM (2:43.6) and also second in the 100-yard freestyle (1:01.7).
Michelle Young garnered another first place for the Outlaws in the 50-yard freestyle (27.4) and anchored the winning 200-yard freestyle relay (1:51.90).
The foursome of Sam Williamson (28.3), Codie Lagao (28.8), Emily Christen (27.7) and Michelle Young (27.1) turned in a good performance, pushing Blanchet to the runner-up position in that event.
Codie Lagao touched second in the 100-yard backstroke race (1:14.4) behind Blanchet's top swimmer, Kelsey Nanneman.
The first individual win for the boys was the 50-yard freestyle performance of Jake Miller (25.2) ahead of Blanchet's Brian FitzPatrick (25.8). Tyler Berg added a top finish in the 100-yard butterfly (1:05.8), followed by Jake Miller (1:08.4) in second place.
Tyler Baldessari was second with his performance in the 100-yard freestyle (55.1) and Brennan Miller followed with a runner-up position in the 100-yard backstroke with a PR of 1:02.2 behind Blanchet's Jeremy Darst (1:01.6). Miller also finished second in the 200-yard freestyle with a PR
of 2:10.4.
Tyler Baldessari touched the pad first in the 100-yard breaststroke with a PR of 1:12.4, followed by his brother, Ian, in a 1:14.1.
The top Outlaws relay squad of Jake Miller, Brennan Miller, Tyler Berg and Tyler Baldessari won the last event of the competition. Their time of 3:48.2 was the top performance in the 400-yard freestyle relay.
The Outlaws travel to Albany for district championships on February 10-11.
