Thomas G. Miller July 15, 1939 - January 30, 2012

Thomas G. Miller, formerly of Sisters, passed away January 30 at home in Green Valley, Arizona, after a short battle with cancer.

In 1988 he married Karyn Carlson. Memory books are filled with road trips, festivals, and celebrations with each other and friends. 

Tom is also survived by: sisters Leava Pender and Joy Hergert; children Bart Miller and wife Heidi, Brian Miller and wife Tamra, Debbie Malcolm, Brenda Lovell and husband Thomas; grandchildren Apryl Miller, Mckenzie Miller, Cameron Malcolm, Lindsay Malcolm, Joseph Lovell, Kelsey Lovell, Nate Lovell; great-grand-son Gavin Bryner.

Tom lived in Tillamook and the Portland area until his retirement in 2001. He served in the U.S. Army and was a Fred Meyer employee for 37 years. He and Karyn then moved to Sisters to begin a new adventure in their lives.

Tom was active in St. Edward the Martyr Catholic Church and was able to show his love for God through community involvement and caring for others. He loved hiking, and you could find him on the trail with the Wednesday Hiking Group both summer and winter. 

In 2011 Tom and Karyn moved permanently to Green Valley, where he was active in St. Vincent de Paul Society, Green Valley Food Bank, and church ministries.

A memorial mass will be held in Sisters at St. Edward the Martyr Catholic Church on March 24 at 11 a.m.

Contributions may be made to Carondelet Hospice, 1802 W. St. Mary's Rd., Tucson, AZ 85745. With their support, Tom was able to remain in his own home until his passing.
