Rosemary Krumvieda Whitman February 18, 1928 - March 18, 2012

Rosemary Krumvieda Whitman, 84, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 18, 2012.

Rosemary was born in Mitchell, South Dakota to parents, Nellie (Kunkel) and Arthur Vehle.

Rosi, as she was known to many, had a love for life and always tried to share that love with friends and family. Her life adventures took her to California, Hawaii, Canada, Idaho, and finally to settle near her family in Central Oregon. After her retirement, Rosemary gave freely of her time. She volunteered for Sisters Habitat for Humanity, Sisters Jazz Festival, and at the Sisters Rodeo. She was a member of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church.

By far though, Rosemary's favorite activity was dancing, which was followed closely by relishing any opportunity she had to enjoy the sun and the beach.

She is survived by her husband of four years, Charles Glenn Whitman, and his family; her children Karen (Tom) Olsen from Bend, John (Suzanne) Krumvieda from Sisters, and Kevin (Tonya) Krumvieda, Grand Saline, Texas. Grandchildren, Ian Anderson; Kyle and Kayla Krumvieda; Bryce, Riley and Parker Krumvieda; and three great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her brother Luverne Vehle and family of Sioux Falls, South Dakota. She was preceded in death by an infant son, Curtis.

Her family takes comfort knowing she is dancing in heaven. We will miss her sunny smile, her sense of humor and most of all her love of life. She was indeed, a very special lady.

At Rosemary's request there will be no public memorial service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her name to Redmond Hospice.
