• Aspen Lakes Golf Course was honored as the Central Oregon winner in the 2012 NWGolfGuys Player's Choice Awards.

2012 Player's Choice Winners are as follows: Portland/SW Washington 18 Hole: Langdon Farms Golf Club; Portland/SW Washington 9 Hole/Par 3: McMenamin's Edgefield Pub Course; Mid-Willamette Valley: Cross Creek Golf Course; Central Oregon Courses: Aspen Lakes Golf Course; Oregon Coast Courses: Bandon Crossings Golf Course; Southern Oregon Courses: The Running Y Ranch; Eastern Oregon Courses: Wildhorse Resort Golf Course.

Winners receive a badge on http://www.NWGolfGuys.com and an award to hang in their pro shop.

• Aspen Lakes Golf Course invites moms to golf for free on Mother's Day. Call 541-549-4653 for tee times.

• Jill Neal will be opening a wholesale gallery for her Wild (but tasteful) Women art in the old Weitech-Multnomah building on the corner of Larch Street and Barclay Avenue.

There will be a Sisters Area Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting ceremony and wine reception on Tuesday, May 29, from 4:15 to 6 p.m.

• During Get Active America! (GAA) week, current Sisters Athletic Club members will be invited to bring a friend for free any two weeks in May and will open its doors to the community, free of charge for any two weeks in May that someone would like to come in.

As part of GAA Sisters Athletic Club will encourage its community to pursue the President's Active Lifestyle Award (PALA+) by being active and making more healthful food choices for five days a week for at least six out of eight weeks.

"Sisters Athletic Club realizes how difficult it is to make healthy lifestyle changes and how important it is to have the support of those around you," says Tate Metcalf, owner of Sisters Athletic Club. "We're here to offer inspiration and support to those in our community who want to improve their health... At Sisters Athletic Club we have the resources and professionals on staff to help them succeed."

• Miss Sew-It-All is NOT a drop-off location for Three Ponies Saddlery. It was listed as such in last week's "Sisters business at a glance" due to a misunderstanding on the part of Three Ponies' owner.

• Julie Kelleher of Sisters Vacation Rentals attended the Professional Vacation Rental Managers Association Conference in Monterey, CA.
