Volleyball club rocks the hardwood

The U-14 Rimrock club volleyball team has put up some impressive victories in a demanding schedule this season.

"I believe we're going to do 18 tournaments this year - started in December and finish in June," said Coach Tanya Johns.

They'll wrap up with a tournament in San Jose, California, June 16-18.

In addition to the tournament schedule, "We do Power League, which is over in Portland, once a week," Johns said. "We ended up second in the region (behind powerhouse Rose City)."

The team features nine players from Sisters, two from Bend and one from Prineville.

"I have a great group of kids, on and off the court," Johns said. "Being a good teammate and developing fundamentals are my big thing, and they're just getting better and better. They're a great group of girls and I have a great group of parents to go with them."
