News and Opinion from Sisters, Oregon
Sophomore Paul Fullhart was the only Outlaws player that made an appearance at the state tournament held at the University of Oregon Thursday through Saturday, May 17-19. Fullhart lost 2-6, 1-6 to Conor Picken of Valley Catholic in the qualifying round.
Oregon Episcopal was crowned tournament champions and Catlin Gabel was runner-up. Phoenix finished third and LaSalle Prep was fourth.
Of Fullhart, Coach Garth Tosello said, "Paul always puts in his best effort. He's tenacious, he has great integrity on the court and he selflessly helps out the team. That's why he's so successful."
As a team, the Outlaws finished the season with four wins and three losses. The Outlaws finished third at the district tournament and were second out of 21 schools in the Dairy Farmers of Oregon Academic All-State awards with a 3.79 GPA (grade point average).
Tosello said, "We will miss our team captain, Luke Gnos. He's contributed all four years and we will miss his leadership as captain and his ability as a player.
"We have quite a few young players that contributed this year," added Tosello. "These guys will continue to improve and our core group will be even better next year."
