Lee Evans Davis of Sisters passed away peacefully, with his family and many friends by his side on May 28 (Memorial Day), in Bend. He was 67.
A funeral service was held on Sunday, June 3, at Sisters Community Church in Sisters.
Lee was born October 9, 1944, in Portland to Dr. Harold and Eloise Davis. He earned a B.S. degree from the University of Kansas and served in the U.S. Air Force, attaining the rank of Captain. He fought in the Vietnam War and was awarded numerous medals and awards. He married Josephine Groves on September 4, 1966.
He worked as a CPA and owned several small businesses. He was an avid sports fan and devoted much of his life to coaching Little League and Babe Ruth Baseball. Most recently he volunteered with the Sisters Veterans Group.
Lee is survived by his wife, Josephine Davis of Sisters; his daughter Emily (husband, Corey) Wall of Juneau, Alaska; sons Andrew (wife, Lisa) Uzunoe of Portland, and Samuel (wife, Heather) Davis of Redmond; his brother Peter W. (wife, Jayne) Davis of Walnut Creek, California; his sister Joy Abele (husband, Bill Moffat) of Wilsonville; and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Saki Uzunoe.
Memorial contributions may be made to Sisters American Legion, Post 86, or the Disabled American Veterans organization.
