News and Opinion from Sisters, Oregon
Fiber artists from around Central Oregon will demonstrate, exhibit and sell their work during the 9th Annual Around the Block Fiber Arts Stroll on Sunday, July 8, noon to 4 p.m.
More than 30 fiber artists will share their textile arts including quilts, weaving, basketry, fabric-dying and much, much more.
"This is the most unique art stroll in Sisters," said Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show Executive Director Ann Richardson. "We have the artists on hand showing you how its done, and some may even have a project you can try yourself."
An Art stroll map can be found on page 32, or you can download them at http://www.sistersoutdoorquiltshow.org, or pick one up at the Sisters Area Chamber of Commerce, Stitchin' Post or participating businesses after Friday, July 6.
Small Wonders Challenge quilts are on exhibit and for sale on the west wall of the Culver House (just up the block from Stitchin' Post) and individually priced.
The quilts are limited to an under-100-inch perimeter.
Small Wonders is a fundraiser for Sisters Park & Recreation District.
Other highlights include an exhibit by multi-media artists at Sisters Art Works based on the show theme "A Patterned Village." Sisters Art Works is located at 204 W. Adams Ave.
The Two Rivers Three Sisters quilt exhibit will be on display at Clearwater Gallery at the corner of Cascade Avenue and Pine Street.
