News and Opinion from Sisters, Oregon
Ann Richardson wrote: Thank you, thank you, thank you to our visitors, volunteers and the merchants of Sisters for saving the day during Quilt Show! As the rains came down our visitors and volunteers stepped up to help save the quilts. Visitors held quilts back under eaves and protected them; volunteers came out of the woodwork to take them down, and our businesses generously gave up floor space, counter space, any space available, to hold them until we could send crews around to pick them all up. And by 6 p.m. every single quilt was accounted for.
Deftly pulling the strings behind the scenes was our event director, Tammy Ambrose, to whom all credit goes for getting quilts up AND down on show day. And kudos to the Quilt Rescue Team for being prepared and at the ready. Once again, our community has pulled off a fabulous quilt show and a stunning quilt rescue - my thanks to one and all.
SPRD wishes to thank Bronco Billy's Ranch Grill and Saloon, Brad Tisdel and friends, and Sisters Trails Alliance for providing food, music and entertainment for the party in the park July 19.
