Friends of the Sisters Library needs books

Every Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show for as long as anyone can remember, the Friends of the Sisters Library (FOSL) has been selling quality used books - first to FOSL members, and then to the wonderful hoards of visitors and residents of the Sisters Country that attend the quilt extravaganza.

And every year, the Friends Book Corner (FBC) sells just about everything on the shelves. It was no different this year.

Now is the time for local folks to start emptying the attic, basement, spare room and personal library of those books you would like to have others enjoy. The FBC is open every Sunday and Tuesday from 1 to 3 p.m. to both receive and sell books.

The proceeds from these used book sale events have gone a long way in helping the library offer activities and books that both please and educate everyone who takes advantage of them. The variety of permanent art objects seen throughout the library are another example. Furniture, computers, projectors and a host of other tools are also the product of the FOSL coffers, filled by the sale of books.
