News and Opinion from Sisters, Oregon

Freda Madeline Cochran April 29, 1909 - August 26, 2012

Freda was born in Weir, Texas and moved to Arcata, California as a child. She and her husband, Oliver I. Cochran, moved to Sisters in the early 1970s. Oliver passed away in 1977.

Freda was second-oldest in a family of five boys and five girls, and is survived by one sister, Doris of Whitefish, Montana. Freda and Oliver had two sons: Eugene O. Cochran of Sisters and Robert D. Cochran of Banning, California. The extended family includes numerous nieces and nephews, as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Freda was a lifelong member of the Baptist denomination, and was active in Sisters Baptist Church for many years.

The family extends thanks and appreciation to the faithful caregivers and to Harmony House of Bend for the loving care and exceptional nurturing given to our mother.

Freda was a long-time supporter of World Vision.

Graveside services for family and close friends will be held Sunday, September 9 at 3 p.m. at Redmond Memorial Cemetery.
