News and Opinion from Sisters, Oregon

Miki McFadden, the new high school volleyball coach, has done what many thought was nearly impossible: She coached the girls to a win over Crook County on Tuesday, September 11.
For those that don't follow volleyball, Crook County has won the state title six years in a row, and most locals cannot remember when (or if) the Outlaws have ever beaten them. With a mixture of returning seniors and younger players, Coach McFadden has the girls playing with enthusiasm and, well, Outlaw pride. This is one volleyball season you won't want to miss!

I just wanted to let you guys know how much I appreciate the friendly business owners you have in Sisters! My family and I were camping at Scout Lake and our turn signal fuse blew on our truck.
Before we headed home on Sunday we dropped down into Sisters to get a new fuse.
It was about 2:45 p.m.
and our first stop was at Bi-Mart. A friendly sales staff helped me look for the right fuse, but alas, they did not have the one I needed.
The employee remembered their being an automotive shop in town called Baxter Auto Parts and immediately called them to see if they were open.
Baxter's closed at 3 p.m., and it was 3:05, but the gentleman at Baxter's offered to stay open for us.
Another employee at Bi-Mart printed us a map and showed us the easiest way to get to Baxter's.
We made it over to Baxter's and found the right part at a very fair price.
Thank you very much to all parties involved in helping make our vacation a pleasant one.

I just had to write to you and let you know what a gift it was to visit your city last week. My sister and husband joined me on a little "tour" of Oregon and your town was a big stand-out. One of the top highlights was Richard's Produce. We were hunting down some fresh produce and the market sent us to Richard's. What an incredible asset to your town to have a man like that bringing such a wonderful supply of fruits and vegetables. My husband asked Richard how many folks have decided to move to Sisters because of his produce stand. Richard laughed and we all raved about your town.
Every day more people are seeking out fresh foods and buying local. It is becoming a high priority for retiring folks looking for their final home. Add the friendliness and sweet little shops, you have a great thing going in Sisters and we are sure to come back and send folks your way.
