Fire throws up smoke from interior burning

The Pole Creek Fire is throwing up a smoke column this afternoon as interior islands of fuel burn actively.

Conditions are extremely dry, with minimal moisture recovery overnight. Such conditions mean active burning in areas where there is fuel.
