Boys soccer continues winning streak

The Outlaws shut out Sweet Home 6-0 at home on Thursday, October 4, to push their league record to 4-0. Jake McAllister had a stellar performance and tallied a hat trick to lead Sisters to victory.

McAllister got the Outlaws on the scoreboard at the 16-minute mark. Jake got the ball, dribbled forward and when he saw an open gap, blasted a shot right through the keeper from 35 yards out.

Three minutes later Evan Rickards had a perfect corner kick to McAllister, who crushed it in with his head to the far post to put Sisters

up 2-0.

McAllister said, "We've been working a lot on our corner-kick play, and Evan and I both executed perfectly. It worked out just like Coach said it would."

Cody Lane scored his first varsity goal of the season from 20 yards out midway through the first half. Lane curved the ball to the left side corner past the keeper for the score.

With 11 minutes left in the half, Eli Boettner blasted a shot at the keeper with such force the ball bounced out of his hands. Keenan O'Hern was there to punch it in for the goal and put the Outlaws on top 4-0. Sisters kept control of the ball and entered the half with a 4-0 lead.

McAllister scored his third goal for a hat trick in the 63rd minute off an assist to himself: Jake flipped the ball over the defensive player, rushed past him and then volleyed the ball into the net for the goal.

"That was such fun," said McAllister. "I was kind of messing around with the ball and it went in."

Jadon Bachtold wrapped up Sisters' scoring spree in the 74th minute when a series of shots off the corner cross led to an easy finish.

"As a team we're getting stronger as the season goes on," said McAllister. "We know league is coming to an end so we're focusing and working very hard."

As the Outlaws wrap up the final half of league they plan to focus all their energy on the game at hand.

"Having swept the first round of competition, it would be nice to duplicate that and obtain the No. 1 seed from the Sky-Em," said Jensen. "Then we will set goals from there."

Sisters is 8-1 overall. The Outlaws were to play at Elmira on Tuesday, October 9, and will travel to Junction City on Tuesday, October 16.
