Sisters business at a glance

• McDonald's dropped off 2,000 books at Sisters Elementary School last Wednesday. The donation is part of the restaurant chain's "Book Blitz for Kids" program. The program's goal is to increase awareness and support of childhood literacy.

• The Sisters Area Chamber of Commerce will host a meet-and-greet with the four candidates running for Sisters City Council on Wednesday, October 24, at 5 p.m. at the Sisters Area Chamber of Commerce, 291 E. Main Ave. Call 541-549-0251.

• Long-time Sisters Realtor and developer Steve McGhehey has joined Metolius Property Sales as a broker, specializing in property development, commercial leasing and sales, and residential sales.

Steve, his wife Terry and daughter Sarah moved to Sisters in 1991. Steve was co-developer of Pine Meadow Village, and developer of the Metolius River Resort, including the Kokanee Café.

• Essentials Skin Care is hosting a one-year anniversary open house on Saturday, October 20, from 2 to 4 p.m. There will be snacks, drawings and prizes, and an opportunity to check out their new cosmetic counter. Essentials is located at 492 E. Main Ave. Call 541-588-6271 for more information.
