Outlaws stomp La Pine in homecoming game

Ethan Luloff scored five touchdowns to lead the Outlaws to their 60-14 victory over La Pine at home on Friday, October 26, in Sisters' final game of the season. Homecoming events prior to the start of the game were a highlight in the exciting finish to a rough season.

Sisters scored 20 points in the first quarter of the contest and held the Hawks scoreless. The Outlaws scored their first touchdown on a 20-yard pass from Tristen Lewis to Cole Moore just three minutes into the game, and Josh Andrade followed with the PAT. With four-and-a-half minutes left in the quarter Ethan Luloff ran the ball into the end zone on a two-yard run. The kick failed but Sisters went up 13-0. With 2:28 remaining, Lewis threw an eight-yard pass to Isaac Jackson and Jackson pitched the ball to Luloff who sprinted 67 yards for the TD. Andrade's kick was good and Sisters took a big early lead.

Luloff scored two touchdowns in the first six minutes of the second quarter; one on an 80-yard run and one on a 37-yard run. Andrade kicked the PAT both times and the Outlaws extended their lead to 34-0.

La Pine got on the scoreboard with four minutes left in the half. The Hawks scored on a 57-yard run but their attempt at a two-point conversion failed. Sisters entered the half on top at 34-6.

Sisters tacked on three touchdowns in the third quarter and took a commanding 54-6 advantage. Mitch Keranen scored on a six-yard run, Luloff on a 61-yard run and Moore on a 31-yard run. Andrade hit two of the three PAT attempts to help push Sisters to a 48-point advantage.

La Pine scored with five minutes left in the fourth quarter on a 47-yard pass. The Hawks ran the ball in for two additional points to put the score at 54-14.

With the clock clicking down the final seconds, Cole Moore intercepted the ball and ran 40 yards for Sisters' final touchdown. The buzzer sounded and the Outlaws recorded the win.

Luloff had 13 carries for 306 yards rushing. The Outlaws rushed for 422 yards and passed for 145 yards for 577 yards of total offense while La Pine finished with 267 total yards of offense.

Coach Gary Hedin told The Nugget that he was proud of the leadership the seniors provided the entire season.

"Our seniors did a great job being leaders through all the situations we went through," said Hedin. "They remained positive and gave us a lot to build off going into next year."
