Therapeutic Associates at the Sisters Athletic Club is holding a complimentary sports injury clinic for student athletes in Sisters. The clinic specializes in the treatment of young athletes, using innovative and comprehensive treatment strategies to promote a speedy return to the field, court, or track. Athletes who are not injured are encouraged to stop by the clinic for a free 12-point injury screen and exercise prescription in order to prevent sports injuries. Olympian Lopez Lomong will visit Sisters Athletic Club Thursday, November 15, for a 5 p.m. wine reception and a 5:30 p.m. presentation and book signing.
Lopez is one of the Lost Boys of Sudan. He is a two-time Olympian for the USA and was chosen by his teammates to carry the American Flag in the opening ceremonies of the 2008 Olympics.
On Friday, November 9, Family Access Network (FAN) is partnering with Shibui Spa to help raise funds and awareness for FAN and the services provided to children in need.
Throughout the day, 100 percent of the profits from services will be dedicated to FAN and its mission. It takes just $100 per school-year to connect a child to basic-need services. All funds raised will help provide connections to services such as food, clothing, shelter, medical and dental care through the FAN advocates in Deschutes County.
