News and Opinion from Sisters, Oregon
Hoodoo Ski Area will be celebrating 75 years of skiing with its own anniversary beer. The first batch of the Hodag Cascadian Dark Ale will be available for the first time at the official release party Friday, November 23 at 6 p.m. in Sisters at Three Creeks Brewing Co. The Hodag will be on site to giveaway T-shirts, stickers, lift tickets and a season pass.
Initially, Hodag CDA will be available at Three Creeks Brewing Co. by the pint and sold individually in 22 oz. bottles at the brewery as well. However, starting next week it will be available in local grocery stores.
And when there's enough snow for the mountain to open, it will be available
at Hoodoo.
Zach Beckwith, Three Creeks head brewer, says the Hodag CDA is 6.4 percent ABV and pours near black in color, while featuring the generous hopping of an IPA. Munich and crystal malt provide a solid malt backbone while midnight wheat and German caraffa malts stain the beer black in color.
